Aberdeen

An earlier second visit to Aberdeen this year, slightly longer days and hopefully better weather.

Arrived early after an overnight drive, unfortunately a grey day and much too windy for the drone.

Temporary page, all photos edited on phone/tablet.

REM INSULA was the first photographed.

Next in was EDT JANE, rolling on the swell.

A fairly busy south harbour,  SEVEN NAVICA on Dunnottar Quay.

SIEM DAY berthed on Castlegate Quay East.

WILSON HANSA also on Castlegate Quay.

FRAMFJORD on Balmoral Quay loading chain and anchors.

SKIPPER TIDE also on Balmoral Quay.

Moving back to the harbour GRAMPIAN CONTENDER on Point Law cross berth.

Next arrival at 1pm was the VOS EXPLORER.

**********

Sunday started grey but the wind had dropped.

First arrival was ENERGY PARADISE.

FS BRAEMAR was next inward.

As the morning brightened up, VOS FAIRNESS arrives.

HILDASAY arrived next, first drone photos of the trip.

ENERGY PASSION looked great in the morning sun.

SEA-CARGO EXPRESS also arrives in the fine morning light.

As it turned quiet I went for a flight around the South harbour,  SEVEN NAVICA…

… SIEM DAY..

…WILSON HANSA …

… and SKIPPER TIDE all still berthed.

Moving to the Tidal harbour as ENERGY PARTNER sails.

After lunch SUPRA TIDE sails.

HILDASAY sails mid afternoon.

FIDRA arrives from Fraserburgh.

SCOTIAN SENTINEL arrives and is the last ship of the day.

**********

A bright but cold start to Monday.

Early morning view of SYMPHONY TIDE at Torry from Fittee.

HELLIAR makes an early morning sailing.

REGGEDIJK arriving just after sunrise.

ISLAND CHAMPION heads out to the anchorage.

FS AQUARIUS sails from the harbour…

…but only just, to undertake DP trials off the North breakwater.

SEA HERALD heads out.

FS CYGNUS looking great as she arrives.

ARKLOW FOREST arrives from the anchorage.

EDT JANE also looks smart as she heads out.

Fresh from dry dock at Hull, GRAMPIAN CORSAIR arrives.

SEA HERALD returns to the harbour.

SIEM DAY still on Castlegate Quay but turned around.

WILSON HANSA now moved to Dunnottar Quay.

SKANDI CALEDONIA on Balmoral Quay.

**********

A grey start to Tuesday, warmer but breezier.

Well before sunrise FASTNET SENTINEL arrives…

… closely followed by AURORA COEY.

The ro/ro ARROW was next to arrive, a recent addition to the Northlink services.

Her sister HELLIAR was next to arrive.

FS AQUARIUS was the first sailing.

GRAMPIAN COMMANDER followed her out for validation trials.

FS BRAEMAR next inward.

As the day brightened,  VESTLAND ARTEMIS arrives.

Always smart looking, NS IONA arrives.

ENERGY PACE arrives in almost perfect conditions, I passed on drone photos as over my limit.

GRAMPIAN SOVEREIGN arrives in the sun too.

FASTNET SENTINEL in the sun on Clipper Quay.

**********

Wednesday just about a washout.

Fishery patrol vessel JURA arrives very early in the rain.

ISLAND CHAMPION enters from the anchorage.

REM SUPPLIER arrives in heavier rain.

The rain eased as SCAN FJORD sailed.

Later in the day WINDEA LEIBNIZ berthed on Balmoral Quay.

**********

Thursday starts dull and very windy but brightened up a bit.

ENERGY EMPRESS sails before sunrise.

ENERGY PARADISE arrives next.

GRAMPIAN CONQUEROR heads inward.

SEVEN ATLANTIC berthed on Dunnottar Quay North.

REGGEDIJK sails for Teesport after a days delay.

WISBY ARGON arrives from Immingham.

EDT JANE returns having been sat offshore for a few days.

HM FLIPPER arrives early afternoon,  still with the dolphin painted up.

**********

Last morning with a severe storm heading our way.

HILDASAY rock and rolls into Aberdeen.

SEVEN ATLANTIC berthed on Dunnottar Quay.

NORMAND SUBSEA on Castlegate Quay East.

ARMADA 78 01 berthed on Castlegate Quay West.

WINDEA LEIBNIZ still berthed on Balmoral Quay.

**********

The impending weather and not a lot due lead me to leave earlier than planned. It may not have been the busiest week but I’m happy with what I got.

Once these photos have been processed at home this page will be replaced.
