With little due on the Humber and a more promising list for the Tees, I was on my way North by 0400.
Well before 0700 and AFON ALAW passes outward to Hartlepool. She assisted the harbour authority with a job and then headed to Lowestoft.
The four Boluda SMS tugs were in action for a tanker arriving, very poor light though. VB TRADESMAN was first passing…
… then VB NOBLEMAN.
The inward tanker LANCING enters the river with all lights blazing.
VB ROMAN holds station as LANCING approaches.
VB NOBLEMAN runs in alongside the LANCING.
LANCING passes the power station.
I decided to try to catch the tugs returning to base, VB NOBLEMAN just beat me.
The one that got away at the South Gare, VB GUARDSMAN approaches the berth…
… followed by VB TRADESMAN.
Returning to the South Gare and VIKING NEPTUN passes inward for Hartlepool – for a cold breezy day there was still some heat haze.
HOYANGER sails from Able Seaton port bound for Antwerp.
The new port dredger EMERALD DUCHESS heads out to the spoil ground.
SOMERSET arrives for Tees dock from Zeebrugge.
A last minute addition to the list, NEWBURY sails for Gdansk.
